Born in Maryland, USA, Jalen N’Gonda chose the city of Liverpool as the place in which he would flourish as a musician. It was at the age of 11 he began getting into music, inspired by his father’s collection of jazz, hip-hop, soul and classical records.
Since moving to Liverpool in 2014 Jalen has been playing gigs across the UK and beyond. Two years later Jalen is selling out headline shows in London and Geneva, is breaking into Spotify’s Viral Charts and is supporting touring act such as Laura Mvula, Martha Reeves and Lauryn Hill at the Montreal Jazz Festival. With his tender soulful voice and bluesy arrangements, Jalen will leave you no choice but to be drawn into his world.

A huge congratulations to Jalen N’Gonda who has been announced as the winner of the ‘Fairmont European Tour Award’ at this years Montreux Jazz Festival. The prize will see Jalen embark on a tour of four dates playing at Fairmont Hotels in London, Barcelona, Hamburg and Montreux. Dates for the tour are yet to be announced.

Jalen N’Gonda’s debut EP ‘Talking About Mary’ has landed. Featuring three brand new tracks, and an acoustic version of ‘Holler (When You Call My Name)’, the track that stirred up a lot of interest in the young soul singer back in 2016.
Jalen N’Gonda recently joined Robert Elms on his BBC Radio London show for a live performance of the lead single ‘I Guess That Makes Me A Loser’ and also featured on the aesthetic digital music platform COLORS with a soulful rendition of ‘Don’t You Remember’, also from the EP.
