Mike Chapman, born in Queensland Australia in 1947, is one of the world’s most successful songwriters and producers, writing and producing hits since the 1970’s. His endless accomplishments can be put down to a keen ear for hits, an enviable technical ability, and perfectionist attitude in the studio.
Following his formative years in Australia, Mike Chapman decamped to London. There he met Nicky Chinn, quickly establishing one of the most prolific writing partnerships of the era. Throughout the 70’s Mike and Nicky were untouchable, writing huge hits for artists such as Suzi Quatro (“Can the Can”, “Devil Gate Drive”), The Sweet (“Ballroom Blitz”, “Blockbuster”), Mud (“Tiger Feet”), Smokie (“Living Next Door to Alice”), and Exile (“Kiss You All Over”) and many more. The next phase of Mike’s career took him to the States, and it was here that his production career really took off. Blondie’s multi-platinum ‘‘Parallel Lines’’ won him international recognition.
Much sought after for his creative prowess, Mike continued writing worldwide hits, including ‘Love Is A Battlefield’ for Pat Benatar and the ‘The Best’ by Tina Turner to name a few.
Having carved a distinguished career in music, Mike employs the same spontaneous approach to writing and production that made his name. These talents, alongside an insatiable desire for chart success, ensures Mike’s top-tier position in the industry, with current projects promising further success to come.
