Chrysalis Auction White Labels For Charity

In celebration of National Album Day a white-label LP auction is to be held. Raising funds for music industry charity The Brit Trust, the auction is a first of its kind covering the breadth of British music. The full catalogue features around 300 presses, with Chrysalis Records donating test presses from the likes of The Specials (signed), Ultravox, Midge Ure, Sinead O’Connor, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Generation X, UFO, Michael Schenker, Blodwyn Pig and Ten Years After. The full collection of vinyls available is live here, with the auction taking place on the 5th October.

Congratulatrions are due for Debbie Harry after picking up the award for Outstanding Contribution To Music at last nights AIM Awards. The Blondie frontwoman was signed to chrysalis in 1977, a defining moment for her career, before going onto release her first solo album with Chrysalis Records.

Midge Ure ‘Soundtrack: 1978-2019’ Coming Soon

Chrysalis Records are releasing a 32 track collection showcasing Midge Ure’s illustrious career entitled ‘Soundtrack: 1978-2019’. Best known for his work with Ultravox and as a co-founder plus co-writer of Band Aid’s ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas’, He also had a rich and varied career prior to Ultravox with the Rich Kids, Visage and throughout his career as solo artist.

Presented in double-gatefold card sleeves, a 20 page booklet with track notes by midge and housed in a clamshell box, this 2cd/1dvd boxset is available to pre order here.

Pitchfork Pick ‘Amplified Heart’ As Best Reissue Of The Week

Everything But The Girls 25th Anniversary Vinyl edition of their acclaimed album ‘Amplified Heart’, which features 90’s hit ‘Missing’, has been voted as Pitchfork’s Best New Reissue this week. The review hailed the album for setting a ‘precedent for a whole raft of tuneful, trip-hop-adjacent sounds’.

To celebrate 25 years since Everything But The Girl released ‘Amplified Heart,’ Chrysalis Records have partnered with Buzzin Fly to release a Special 25th Anniversary vinyl edition. Available from July 5th, it will be the first time the album is released on vinyl.
